Crash’s Birthday Bash at Crown Regency

My hubby turns 28 this year last January 28. We spent the special night at Crown Regency. We avail their promo which is 3, 999 inclusive overnight stay, one free rides ( edge coaster or sky walking), dinner and breakfast. Isn’t great? This is very affordable. So we didn’t have any second thought of availing the said promo.

When we were at the information area asking for the type of bed that we were going to use, I am kinda upset when I heard that its a twin bed for there is no queen bed available. So we just get it and went to the room 1615. As I open the door, I was surprise for the was really cozy and luxurious place to stay with. The twin bed size looks like a queen bed. Hahaha! We will not be congested in just one bed.

Sad to note that we arrived at the area around 10:30pm as a result we didn’t avail the free dinner. So what we did, we just walk in the sky. Sky walking is the Philippine’s first sky walk extreme. This is the first adventure activity which me and crash did together as husband and wife. Isn’t fantastic?!!

As we walked, I didn’t felt any nervousness for I am not afraid of heights. I were just shaking for it was really cold in there. The view is really awesome. I do really enjoyed watching thousands of lights down from the city view up to the mountain view. What I do like it is you can see the whole Cebu City for you will have to walked in 360 degree. We ended our walk for about 15 minutes including picture taking. Me and my hubby love it so much.

After walking, we had a hungry stomach so we ate at the carenderia just beside the hotel. Then, we return and room and sleep.

In the morning, we had a sumptuous breakfast at glo cafe and lounge.

We really had a great experience at Crown Regency. I love to go back there during Valentine’s Day and try the Edge Coaster, the world’s first edge coaster. However, as I asked the promo is not applicable during special occasions and weekends. Perhaps, we will go back during my birthday bash… If God permits!

Escapade to Mama Mary of Simala 2

In my previous post, “Escapade to Mama Mary of Simala” I mentioned about how to get there. In here is the continuation of my escapade. I hope that you will enjoy reading it.

As reached the main entrance of the Sanctuary, I was amazed by its beauty. I can’t help it but to take a pose for my souvenir. You have to walk going to left from the entrance gate. That is where the entrance going to the pilgrimage. Before you could enter the gate, there are guards who will look out for your dress. You have to be careful as to what you wear. Since the place is for prayer, meditation, petitions so you don’t need to dress to kill. Wear something comfortable. If you forgot to wear with sleeve because you opted to wear spaghetti strap since it is summer or you wear a short or blouse with long neckline, you may just buy outside the pilgrimage a sarong or scarf . People in Lindongon will love that, for that would help them in their income. As you pass the gate because you were wearing a prescribe outfit, you have to set your mind what you would like to do in there. Would you like to kiss the image of MAMA MARY? Or you would like to be covered with scarf or they called it “takyap”? or you would like simply attend the mass? There were different lines for that. If you could see a yellow cord with shoulder width wide space, that is the line to the image of MAMA MARY, if you want to kiss her and pray for her. This was the line that we had chosen. It is a long line that took just more or less one hour. Since the temperature is too high nowadays, it would be best if you bring along with you an umbrella, cap, or sarong to protect your self from heat stroke. In going to the pilgrimage there is a portion in there which is stiff.  There was an inclination part. So I would suggest you better wear flip-flops, rubber shoes or anything which is flat shoes.

Mapeh Org is born

MAPEH stands for Music, Art, Physical Education and Health. Is one of the subjects here in the Philippines. This is also the subject that I am teaching in University of Cebu. Ever since I am in love in blogging. I made to realize to make a website for my students. This is an outlet/ extension of the topics that we had discussed. The summarized topics, challenging activities and outlet of expressing student’s point of view of certain concepts are the main purpose of creating this website.

I am so happy with the positive response of my students. I appreciate that the time that they were spending in playing online game was now divided. Doing their assignment and project online and playing/ chatting/ facebooking online at the same time.

I made some daily deals to them. Every time they will participate in the class, they will receive corresponding points. Moreover, other way to have points is to visit our website and they have to leave comments. This is the reason that www.mapeh.org was born.

Lumad Basakanon

Lumad Basakanon is one of the famous Sinulog Contingents  nowadays. They won grand prize winner in the year 2004, 2005, 2007 and 2008 respectively.  In 2009 and 2010, the group settle second place.  There are mixed emotion had been released as the result came. Some would say that the group deserved to be the first, some said that the decision is right for nothing new to the group. Starting from costume, props, dance steps and formation. Perhaps, we can’t blame these people because at first glance, you can really look at it as the same. But the moment you observed it keenly, you can spot the difference. The only main problem in here is being narrow- minded. Some people didn’t understand the group’s origin. It is just the same with, people in Ifugao never uses the janggay, (is made up of brass plate that is used to extend the fingers ) while dancing and vice- versa in  Maguindano. People in Mindanao never wears a bahag. This is the principle applied in Lumad Basakanon.
