Most of the couple to be wants to have a perfect wedding. However, no matter how we try to make it perfect, there are still some details which are still misguided or forgotten. I been hearing and attending several weddings, the bride or guest have some complaints about the wedding itself.

One of the reasons why it is not perfect, it’s because of undivided task and misinformed duties. We normally ask our closest friends to be our bridesmaids. As usual, as they know that they are bridesmaid, they will accept it with all their hearts. Not knowing that, being a bridesmaid has also a role to take part during the entire wedding experience. As I observe it, some of the bridesmaid will just attends the wedding and after the ceremony, they will be also gone. It would be best to inform the bridesmaid her roles before, during and after the wedding.

On the other hand, if the bridesmaid is very supportive, then she must be given a token for her time and effort to make the wedding a successful one. Giving a bridesmaid gifts are just a small way saying thank you.

So for those ladies who were asked to be a bridesmaid, know now your obligations. Ask the bride to be what is your specific role or perhaps, you search online “the roles of a bridesmaid” so you could help.

There are lots of activities which you can do whether indoor and outdoor. Here are my personal lists of suggestive activities.

Indoor activities

  • board games
  • movie marathon
  • making shakes, halo-halo
  • blogging
  • playing online games
  • cleaning the house
  • sleeping
  • exercising

Outdoor activities

  • beach outing
  • playing volleyball (beach volley)
  • mountain hiking
  • exercise
  • hanging out with friends
  • visiting distant relatives

In here is the continuation of my escapade. I hope that you will enjoy reading it.

As reached the main entrance of the Sanctuary, I was amazed by its beauty. I can’t help it but to take a pose for my souvenir. You have to walk going to left from the entrance gate. That is where the entrance going to the pilgrimage. Before you could enter the gate, there are guards who will look out for your dress. You have to be careful as to what you wear. Since the place is for prayer, meditation, petitions so you don’t need to dress to kill. Wear something comfortable. If you forgot to wear with sleeve because you opted to wear spaghetti strap since it is summer or you wear a short or blouse with long neckline, you may just buy outside the pilgrimage a sarong or scarf . People in Lindongon will love that, for that would help them in their income. As you pass the gate because you were wearing a prescribe outfit, you have to set your mind what you would like to do in there. Would you like to kiss the image of MAMA MARY? Or you would like to be covered with scarf or they called it “takyap”? or you would like simply attend the mass? There were different lines for that. If you could see a yellow cord with shoulder width wide space, that is the line to the image of MAMA MARY, if you want to kiss her and pray for her. This was the line that we had chosen. It is a long line that took just more or less one hour. Since the temperature is too high nowadays, it would be best if you bring along with you an umbrella, cap, or sarong to protect your self from heat stroke. In going to the pilgrimage there is a portion in there which is stiff.  There was an inclination part. So I would suggest you better wear flip-flops, rubber shoes or anything which is flat shoes.

She’s been blogging since 2004. However, she blogs about six years but her blog is not indexed. She was confused as to where to go and how to deal with it. Until such recently, we talked about blogging. I gave her some advises as to what to do.

Here are the tips which I gave her. It might be also useful for especially if you are a new blogger.

1.  Have your blog be indexed. Indexed means listed, filed or placed to facilitate blog/content/topics/keyword retrieval. If your blog is not indexed, it just simply means your blog is not accessible to all people in this world. But once it is indexed, you may just surprise a unique visitor from other parts of your country visited and commented on your blog. There are website free directory submission. You just have to submit your blog url and be acquainted in this blogosphere.

2. Make friends. Visit as many bloggers as you can so will be also well known to them. It would be ideal to post  sensible comment so they will leave a footprint in your blog.

3.  Write informative and  original content. Google will be please if you will write something which is created and written out of your knowledge and skills in writing. Think of something to write which you think useful to the readers.

4. Industriousness. A person’s diligence and industriousness will lead you to be a successful blogger. Simply follow these pattern. Post ,visit, Post, visit.  Simple right?

This is might be because of tight budget and we prefer of telling the people who are close to us in person. We prefer to be humble. But then, it doesn’t mean that we are not proud to be parents. It’s just we don’t used to it.

When I was pregnant, I really search in the internet some beautiful layout for birth announcement. I wanted to give this to all friends and relatives.  In this way, they will be inform the name, birth date, weights, height and perhaps the meaning of the baby name(s) of the cute baby who is now a new member of the family.

Sad to say that I wasn’t able to make this for I didn’t have an ink of my computer. Moreover, I didn’t have a chance to make it due to my operation.

To all first time parents, this is my advice to all of you.

1. You must take the opportunity that your baby is still a baby for time runs so fast.

2. While you are still pregnant, do everything that you can still do like scrapbooking, making birth announcement. ( print it out while you still have an ink)lol!

3. Capture all her/his first moments and record it. I just able to do this while I still have my camera. When it acted out, I really missed her 5,6, 7,8 months of her life. This is really disappointing.

4. Spend time with your baby.

Here are some facts about human brain can make you alive and avoiding from being ignored.

1. Facts about Brain - People response with what they already know and already do daily for they were used to it. This is because the brain’s basal ganglia, it keeps some people comfortable in repeating such action. They will likely to response if the speech that you are goinf to present are familiar to them.

Advise: Present your new idea onto fheir familiar approaches.

2. Facts about Brain – In order to open their ability to agree in the new planned  that you are going to present, inject some humor, for it releases enzymes that helps the brain to accepts certain new ideas.

Advise: Prepare some funny jokes in order for them to laugh. Take note, laughter is the best medicine.

3. Facts about Brain – An advance organizer is information, ideas, concepts  that are presented prior to learning and that can be used by the learner to organize and interpret new incoming information. It enable the human brain to perceive and act on a clear plan.

Advise: Avoid saying a broad concepts without explaining what is all about. State something that can be a jump start to your main idea of speech.

4. Facts about Brain - Serotonin motivates the human brains to enhance them to learn, accept and apply new ideas presented.

Advise : Giving an incentives is one way to motivate them to accept your ideas like higher salary, recognition and free cars.

5. Facts about Brain – Cortisol is also called as ” stress hormone” if it tkaes negatively. It could bring the people lower their likeness to accept ideas, adventures and opportunities before you get your point across.

Advise: State the problem or situation clearly and show clear view of your plan and then present quickly to a solution.

6. Facts about Brain - Most of the people wants to stay at the back or at the sides but never in front for they want to leave the hall without asking permission or they just want to sleep. Melatonin, is a hormone for sleep. Sleeping activity increases in a darkened room. It really set the moods of sleeping whenever the lights are too low.

Advise: Use bright lights to set the room for listening. This would avoid the people from just nodding before you get to the point. The attention span of the people is very short so make your speil in less than 30 seconds.

To some people, Valentines Day is just an ordinary day. They didn’t even care to celebrate it. However, some people treat this as a special day which you have to celebrate with your love ones. No matter how you celebrate it, the most important thing is the “love” for another.

When I was a kid, especially when Valentines Day comes often times heard this line ” adlaw nga tig bu ak ug pakwan” (this is a Cebuano dialect and cliché`). Idiomatically means “giving up one’s virginity”.  I was really curios then what does it mean. My cousin Nanan explained it to me. Upon learning the meaning of that word, I came to realized that Valentines Day is a special day for lovers for it is the time for them to feel the sanctity of womanhood which is not in line with the norms and culture of the Filipinos. Virginity is something should be kept and locked. This is the only gift that you can be proud of to offer to your future husband. The end will be rewarding.

In contrary, this day is not only for the lovers but also for the whole family as well. Spending time, loving and understanding with them is essential to make a healthy relationship. Let them feel that celebration of Valentines is not only happens once a year, but instead celebrate it everyday.
