I am teaching Physical Education for seven years. With the duration of my teaching in University of Cebu, I evaluated the topics and activities that we were able to discussed in a year. I found it out that there was in need of a change of the content and activities that should be implemented as soon as possible. Upon assessing the problems and formulating possible solutions, one of the solutions that I made was that there is a need of additional sports facilities and equipment such as: badminton rackets, badminton court, shuttlecocks, volleyball balls, softball ball, helmets, bats, table tennis racket, table tennis balls, ping pong tables, net for volleyball, ball carrier, and basketball balls and spacious venue for the sports events.
Physical Education subject is a skill subject and exciting activity that students will surely enjoy. This is also the time wherein the students release their emotion, tension and exhaustion. With these, I was confused and upset that the moment we will use the quadrangle, some teachers will be complaining that we were noisy. Sometimes, we were called to stop our activity. This is the reason that sometimes, I don’t like to discuss some of these sport such as: volleyball, basketball and softball for aside from the high school department doesn’t have enough equipment for the said sports , we do not have enough venue which is suitable for active activity. Thus, we seldom hold a play day to my students.
I am hoping that the school administrators will look for a solution to this problem. If this will persist, we suppressed the learning of our students and impeded them to become active, sports minded, drug free and online gamer free students.
