How to reach at Victory Liner from Domestic Airport at low cost?

I just arrived here in Manila 7:15 in the morning. I booked my flight at Zest Air for it was cheaper compared to Cebu Pacific. Zest Air terminal was in the old Domestic Airport. I took some photos of the plane as I disembark.

I noticed there are some people who also took pictures of the plane. As I went out from the airport, I walked towards the left side of the area. I decided to took metered taxi for I know it is cheaper than yellow cab taxi. It took me about 30 minutes of waiting for I wanted to make sure that I will not be fooled by the driver. So what I did, I just observed them. Until such I took a avanza cab ( I forgot to take the body and plate number). I  told the driver to dropped me off near “MRT Overpass” This is because  I read a blog of maxtein.com as he gave instruction to the driver. Upon saying this to the driver, he was a bit confused. He said that there are lots of overpass of MRT. I clarified to him MRT overpass at EDSa. To cut the conversation, I told him to hid me directly to Victory Liner Bus Terminal.  As I check my notebook with hand written map, I keep on asking him what road we were taking. For  I thought I might be fooled around. When he said its Tramo, I was kind of confident that  was the road that we are going to take. Then there are some land mark of the Aurora Blvd. Five Star Bus Terminal. After few meters it turned right. Several meters I saw Philtranco Terminal, in front of it is the Victory Liner.  Then, I noticed the overpass of MRT. I said to the driver, that was supposed to be my destination. He said ” that area is Cabrera St. This is where you will stop and walk across EDSA using overpass. Then  you can will reach at the  Victory Liner.

Summary:

From Airport – take a taxi dropped off  Cabrera St. or Philtranco Bus Terminal then use the MRT Overpass cross EDSA. – The Victor Liner Bus Terminal is Right beside the Overpass. This is ideal if you want to pay lesser using metered taxi according to maxitein, he just pay 50.00 pesos from NAIA 3 terminal to MRT overpass (Cabrera Footbridge)

In my case I took, a taxi straight to the Victory Liner Bus Terminal for I am alone and brought with me my camera. I paid 120.00 pesos for the that trip. See the difference?

lol, with matching pictures at the end!!!

come april 7, 2012, I will be doing something similar to what you did. From my arrival at NAIA terminal 2 i need to go to Pasay Victory Liner Terminal. Coming from NAIA terminal 2, it would be easy to just
travel the whole EDSA and just let the cab driver drop off the opposite side of the road (because victory liner is in the opposite side!) and use the overpass to get to the Victory Liner Terminal, but I too have heavy luggage so I just can’t drag em walking and then going up and down the overpass to the victory terminal (not safe and convenient), best is just to ride and let the cab driver really put me inside the terminal itself. so the choice whether yellow taxi vs coupon (white) taxi is the issue now. since i am not into haggling actually i would just choose the airport coupon taxi fixed price and if the cab driver is a good boy i will add P50 tip. but from naia terminal 2 to pasay has three rates because pasay has area1, area2, area3 with price of P150, P330, P430 respectively looking at googlemap, my estimate is that i should be charged P150 or P330 at the most. whatever is the area victory pasay i don’t know.

okay, this is it. when i arrive at naia2 i have two choice, the coupon airport taxi (P330) or the yellow airport taxi (initial flagdown rate is P70) , actually a man carrying a booklet of receipts of the supposed fare approached me and asked me where i am going, so i told him, pasay victory liner terminal. he said “$18 dollars lang sir” , okay, that offer simply does not work. he thinks he can a rip-off. so i declined. anyway, i simply choose the yellow taxi. so they are located on the far right (as the coupon/white taxis are on the left.) so i memorized the taxi’s body number (pretended also to check the plate number), went in and then we go. i had a little chat with the driver because he keeps asking questions. anyway, i told him im from taiwan, (not canada). hehe. baka kikilan pa ako neto ng canadian dollars. anyway, this was a sabado gloria morning so not much traffic on the route actually. we arrive at the victory terminal, i checked the meter, it reads P273. which i think was a normal read but it turn out to be suspect of cheating i tell you. anyway, i went out of the taxi. took out all my baggage and then paid him P300 (tip included lol). so if i used the coupon taxi which charged P330, and im pretty sure the driver would ask for a tip, say i give him, P50 so i will in theory pay P350 on the white taxi so i think its a better option just to use the yellow taxi.

anyway, coming back again, (vacation in pinas is over na) this time, from pasay victory liner (inside), i rode another yellow airport taxi which just landed a passenger from the airport going back to naia 2 (centennial terminal) and initially i thought that the driver used the long route because it took a long time (oh well traffic) and when i get out of the taxi when i was in naia2 already, the meter reads only, i mean only fuckin P190. remember, i rode a yellow airport taxi that has a meter reading P273. but this time its only P190, i gave the driver P30 tip to make the fare P220. during the trip, he also asked where i am headed, and i just told him “abroad” i dont want telling to strangers where i am going because i am not asking directions. LOL. anyway, he did not bother asking anymore questions!
