Dress Code

We went to Siquijor last March 30 – April 2 of this year. Our itinerary on day 2 was church and beach hopping. Most of us wore short pants, sleeveless, t shirt. In other words, we were ready to be in the beach that be in the church. We got in the church, even if we do not wear proper dress. Until we arrived at the San Juan Parish Church, as we about to got in, there was a poster saying recommended “parish clothing“. So the group decided not to got in. Instead, I just took pictures outside the church, rest for awhile and we enjoyed each others company as well as the beautiful scenery of Capilay Spring Park in Siquijor.

So, it is best to separate the church and beach hopping to avoid conflict in terms of dress coding.

Ceres Bus Liner Schedule for Bacolod

At 7:20 a.m will be my flight bound for Bacolod. This is the most expensive flight I ever purchased. I blamed myself of not booking it a head of time. I only purchased it yesterday at 7:03p.m at Skyliner Emall. I payed 3, 650 peso for the air fare.

The reason also why I didn’t booked it earlier for I decided to do it in land trip using Ceres Bus Liner. I went to their garage area near at Taboan and asked for the bus schedule.

Here is the schedule CEBU to BACOLOD

Route

Toledo via Escalante  =   5:15 am / 10:15 a.m/ 3:00 p.m

Toledo via Don Salvador =  4:30 am/ 9:45 am.

Toledo Via Canlaon   =  5:30 a.m

Tabuelan via Escalante = 5:00 am/ 7:30 p.m

Bato Barili via Mabinay- Kabangkalan. = 1:45 a.m/ 6:30 a.m.

You can call their office at 032- 345-86-50. Rates will depend on the route and type of bus. You will also pay 200 hundred peso for the barge fee.

As I inquire to friendly staff of Ceres Bus, They recommended to me to take Tabuelan via Escalante because I wanted to be at the Bacolod before 8 a.m. The seminar that I will be attending will start at 8:00 am. According to them, the travel time will run approximately 9 hours. I know that can be stressful and I maybe exhausted. This will be boring most especially I will be traveling alone.

I was really confused what to do. Good thing that my husband, suggested me to take the airplane. He will just provide me the meals and accommodation for the said seminar. I really thank God for giving me a very understanding and generous husband.

How to reach at Victory Liner from Domestic Airport at low cost?

I just arrived here in Manila 7:15 in the morning. I booked my flight at Zest Air for it was cheaper compared to Cebu Pacific. Zest Air terminal was in the old Domestic Airport. I took some photos of the plane as I disembark.

I noticed there are some people who also took pictures of the plane. As I went out from the airport, I walked towards the left side of the area. I decided to took metered taxi for I know it is cheaper than yellow cab taxi. It took me about 30 minutes of waiting for I wanted to make sure that I will not be fooled by the driver. So what I did, I just observed them. Until such I took a avanza cab ( I forgot to take the body and plate number). I  told the driver to dropped me off near “MRT Overpass” This is because  I read a blog of maxtein.com as he gave instruction to the driver. read more »

An absolutely nice chance to travel the world offered by Cebu Pacific .  As I browse,  there are still lots of available slots. I really wanted to grabbed it and booked it but the situation is, I don’t have money on hand. It’s in the bank. Since, it’s a holiday so I can not withdraw. Thus, I can not avail this. huh!

Escapade to Mama Mary of Simala 2

In my previous post, “Escapade to Mama Mary of Simala” I mentioned about how to get there. In here is the continuation of my escapade. I hope that you will enjoy reading it.

As reached the main entrance of the Sanctuary, I was amazed by its beauty. I can’t help it but to take a pose for my souvenir. You have to walk going to left from the entrance gate. That is where the entrance going to the pilgrimage. Before you could enter the gate, there are guards who will look out for your dress. You have to be careful as to what you wear. Since the place is for prayer, meditation, petitions so you don’t need to dress to kill. Wear something comfortable. If you forgot to wear with sleeve because you opted to wear spaghetti strap since it is summer or you wear a short or blouse with long neckline, you may just buy outside the pilgrimage a sarong or scarf . People in Lindongon will love that, for that would help them in their income. As you pass the gate because you were wearing a prescribe outfit, you have to set your mind what you would like to do in there. Would you like to kiss the image of MAMA MARY? Or you would like to be covered with scarf or they called it “takyap”? or you would like simply attend the mass? There were different lines for that. If you could see a yellow cord with shoulder width wide space, that is the line to the image of MAMA MARY, if you want to kiss her and pray for her. This was the line that we had chosen. It is a long line that took just more or less one hour. Since the temperature is too high nowadays, it would be best if you bring along with you an umbrella, cap, or sarong to protect your self from heat stroke. In going to the pilgrimage there is a portion in there which is stiff.  There was an inclination part. So I would suggest you better wear flip-flops, rubber shoes or anything which is flat shoes.

Escapade to Mama Mary of Simala

Have you ever heard the miraculous image of MAMA Mary of Simala? Have you ever tried to visit the place? Do you have some petitions? or a thanks giving for all the answered prayer? Do you have an idea as to where to go this coming Holy Week for repentance?

Last April 4, 2009. My whole family went to Simala, Lindongon,Sibonga to visit the miraculous MAMA MARY. It was our first time to visit the said place except my uncle (who happened to be the driver that time). We brought along with us a cooler which was full of ice cubes and water; rice cooker (of course with rice) and pork adobo. It took us about 1 hour since we just lived at Minglanilla.

Before we reached to Sibonga proper, there were some landmarks that you may come across. These were “the APO CEMENT in NAGA and the rotunda of Carcar, (known for their pork chicharon and ampao). After CARCAR, is the town of SIBONGA. The Simala, Lindongon is quite far from the town itself. Until such you could read at the right side of the road (if you came from Cebu City) a sign board “THIS WAY TO SIMALA” Sanctuary of Mother Mary. From that area, you still have to drive 5 kilometers away. Quite far isn’t it? If you are riding on a minibus (I would not recommend you to rode this kind of PUJ, because of the recent accident) or CERES BUS. You have to disembark in this area. There are tricycles that you could ride on going to Lindongon. If you are riding with your own car (which is more convenient) there are parking spaces available near the entrance of the Sanctuary. Be careful of those people who just simply say, “no more space available down there” However, if it is 13th day of the month, you have to secure a space to park for there are thousands of people will be coming over. You don’t have to worry about the road for it was being asphalted. Though there is a minor part which needs some repair.

As of now, I will it up here for the moment, because I have to compute the grades. The have to meet the deadline by Monday.
