7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to bring Chloe to her grandmother, tomorrow my plans include attend a seminar at CAP and attend Sinulog Practice and Sunday,  hear mass and present a dance at Holy Cross Church and San Roque Mambaling.

Sinulog 2010 Photo Contest Winners

Today will be the awarding ceremony at 1:00 p.m SM foodcourt, Cebu City, Philippines of the most prestigious contest in the field of photography. This contest was participated by numerous professionals, amateur and novice photographers here and abroad.

One of the guest performers of the said event is Lumad Basakanon of Basak, San Nicolas. This group was considered as the most photograph of all contingent. Honestly, I didn’t know the reason why is this group considered as one. This is just what I heard from the people of Sinulog Foundation.

Manhattan Job for my Aunt

That is why people in the Philippines go to other countries to find a greater compensation, enough for their families because here in the Philippines, some of the companies are abusing their employees for not giving the benefits promised to them. I hope that the new officials elected this coming election can make a change in this country.

Lumad Basakanon

Lumad Basakanon is one of the famous Sinulog Contingents  nowadays. They won grand prize winner in the year 2004, 2005, 2007 and 2008 respectively.  In 2009 and 2010, the group settle second place.  There are mixed emotion had been released as the result came. Some would say that the group deserved to be the first, some said that the decision is right for nothing new to the group. Starting from costume, props, dance steps and formation. Perhaps, we can’t blame these people because at first glance, you can really look at it as the same. But the moment you observed it keenly, you can spot the difference. The only main problem in here is being narrow- minded. Some people didn’t understand the group’s origin. It is just the same with, people in Ifugao never uses the janggay, (is made up of brass plate that is used to extend the fingers ) while dancing and vice- versa in  Maguindano. People in Mindanao never wears a bahag. This is the principle applied in Lumad Basakanon.

Solutions for Drug Addicts

The reason why people turn their way back to good deeds is because of poverty and problems. Because of problems coming to us specially if this problems are about family and money, we go to our friends with bad influence and do their wrong ways just like taking drugs and drinking alcohol.

Many teenagers are like that here in the Philippines but there are ways to stop that. 1st of all is to give them your attention they need and secondly, friends with good influence  and finally if it is really worst, the drug rehab.

Sometimes people think that drug rehab is like a jail and they are just like very irresponsible if they put their love ones to that rehabilitation center because they can’t take care of them but I tell you, it is the best way to help them get rid of the drug addiction because in that rehablititation center, they were taken care of and help them understand what drug addiction can do to their lives and so as time pass by, after the session, they would never go back to that vices. So I think it would be better if you have love ones like that, try to put them in drug rehabilitation center and I’m sure you would not regret it after.
